Castle Contracting, LLC needed a strategic rebrand following their 2014 acquisition by McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. that would align their identity with their new parent company while preserving their established reputation and respected brand culture in the construction industry.
CHALLENGE
The company faced the complex task of integrating into McCarthy's broader corporate vision while maintaining the trusted Castle name and cultural identity that clients valued. They needed a visual identity that would communicate their core strengths—protection, stability, and reliability—while projecting modern professionalism and forward-thinking leadership in construction and site development.
SOLUTION
I redesigned the Castle logo to capture the brand's essence through strategic visual elements: castle-like battlements symbolizing protection and stability, layered lines within a shield shape that subtly reference excavation and grading work, and a bold, all-caps typeface projecting confidence and modern professionalism. The cohesive design successfully positioned Castle as a dependable, forward-thinking construction partner while seamlessly integrating into McCarthy's broader corporate vision and maintaining the trust and recognition built over years of industry leadership.
